THE VERSILIA

The zone of the Versilia, for a long time famous destination of tourism,
is located in the north-western part in Tuscany and is inclusive in the province of Lucca. Of the Versilia they make part the communes of: Pietrasanta, said "the small Athens of the Versilia" because of the
numerous artistic and cultural wealths that introduces; Strongly of the Marbles, one of the most exclusive Italian maritime places, Seravezza and Stazzema, place characterized by the contemporary proximity of sea and mountain; Camaiore, the most ancient town of the Versilia; Massarosa
and Viareggio, famous city not only for the sea but also for its Carnival.

This earth that with its beautiful shore and its great and airy pinete represents one of the most beautiful places of the whole region, its extends for around 165 kmqs, it leans out on the Tyrrhenian sea and it is delimited to north by the mouth of the Cinquale, to south from the lake of Massaciuccoli and to east from the chain of the Alps Apuane. Whoever visits the Versilia won't be only stricken from the beauty of its coast, but also from its hinterland, very characteristic thanks to its medieval suburbs and that it spaces from the last edges of Lunigiana up to the city of Carrara, where it can be admire its impressive caves of marble.
